Appointment of Mr. Davie Kalomba as NAC Executive Director

The National AIDS Commission (NAC) Board of Commissioners wishes to inform its stakeholders and the general public that following a successful competitive recruitment process early this year, it has pleased His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, President of the Republic of Malawi, to appoint Mr. Davie Francy Kalomba, as the new Executive Director for NAC, with effect from 1st June 2016.

Mr. Kalomba joined NAC in 2004 and prior to his new appointment, he has served the Secretariat in other senior management portfolios, including that of Head of Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Research; Acting Director of Programmes; and, Acting Executive Director.


Mr. Kalomba has vast experience in policy analysis and development; strategic and operational planning; costing, cost analysis and budgeting;; health systems, HIV and AIDS research; programme design, monitoring and evaluation; resource mobilization; and, rights-based approach to health development, among others. He holds an MBA (Health, Population and Nutrition) and a BSoc Sc (Economics and Psychology) obtained from University of Keele (United Kingdom) and University of Malawi, Chancellor College, respectively.

The Board of Commissioners profoundly congratulates Mr. Davie Francy Kalomba on his appointment and wishes him success as he steers the NAC Secretariat to another level.
