DESCRIPTION:World AIDS Day\, observed every December 1st\, is a global initiative aimed at raising awareness about the HIV/AIDS pandemic\, honoring those who have lost their lives to AIDS-related illnesses\, and supporting individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Established in 1988\, the day unites communities worldwide to combat HIV/AIDS\, challenge stigma and discrimination\, and advocate for access to treatment\, prevention\, and support services. Through educational campaigns\, fundraising events\, and public health initiatives\, World AIDS Day empowers individuals\, fosters dialogue\, and promotes actions to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic. National AIDS Commission\, Malawi\, actively supports this event each year\, commemorating it at a chosen location across the country.
