This week from 22nd to 23rd January 2026, the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the National AIDS Commission will hold the 2024/2025 Integrated Joint Annual Review (JAR) of the health sector and the National Response to HIV and AIDS. The event will take place at Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe.
The 2nd Integrated Joint Annual Review (JAR) is themed: Accelerating Universal Health Coverage and Resilient Health Systems through collaboration and Resource optimization.
The main objective of the Integrated JAR is to ensure a holistic comprehension of the health sector challenges and their solutions and effective coordination of essential health service delivery.
Participants include Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Local Authorities, Local and International Development Implementing Partners, Academicians, Civil Society Organizations, Training Institutions and other Ministry of Health Affiliates.
Starting from 2023-2024 Fiscal Year, the National AIDS Commission (NAC) in conjunction with the Ministry of Health (MOH) commenced the implementation of an Integrated Joint Annual Review (JAR) of the Health Sector and the National Response to HIV and AIDS. The 2024 Integrated JAR was the first under the Health Sector Strategic Plan III, embracing a unified approach of One Plan, One Budget and One Report. By moving from separated reviews of the Health Sector and the national HIV and AIDS Response to a combined format, the sector seeks to migrate from a piece meal approach of addressing health challenges to a holistic approach.
